Obituary of Sarah Farmer
From WASHINGTON DAILY HERALD
Wednesday, June 28, 1916
The eternal summons came with utter unexpectedness to Mrs. Sarah E. Farmer, at her home on Washington Avenue, Tuesday night at 10 o'clock, following a sudden attack of the heart.
Mrs. Farmer's death brought overwhelming sorrow to her two devoted daughters, Misses Kate and Lucy, who have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their great loss.
Although seemingly a far younger woman Mrs. Farmer had reached the advanced age of 87. She was a woman of unusually strong and lovable character and her friends were many and close.
Only a few months ago Mrs. Farmer and daughters returned to this city, their home a number of years ago, from Greenfield, where their home had been made for some time and where Mrs. Farmer's death will be learned with great regret.
A short service will be held at the residence on Washington Ave., Friday afternoon, the remains being taken at 1:00 p.m. to Greenfield, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Greenfield cemetery.
