Obituary of Mabel M. Hatch

Mabel M. Hatch, 85, of Tryon passed away May 28, 2008, at Great Plains Regional Center.

She was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Tryon to William and Donna C. Allen Neal. Mabel graduated from McPherson County High School in 1941. She married Don M. Hatch on Jan. 25, 1947. One child was born to this union. After they married, the couple moved to Oregon where they owned and operated a laundromat. Mabel assisted her husband in building homes in Oregon, Wyoming and Nebraska. She also served by her husband's side while he was a minister for nearly 15 years. Mabel enjoyed cooking, gardening and family gatherings.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirla (Russ) Brouwer of Tryon; a sister, Wilma (Chart) Nicholson; two sister-in-laws, Geneva Neal and Wilma Neal: two grandchildren, Heidi (Amanda) Brouwer and Ross (Rachel) Brouwer; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Brouwer, Aurora and Tina Bolf; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; four brothers; and an infant sister.

A memorial has been established in her name. Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2008, in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with the Rev. John Lewis officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today and Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.
