Obituary of Larry Jay Cash

Larry Jay Cash, age 78 of North Platte, passed away Saturday October 24, 2015 at his home. Larry was born on January 26, 1937 in Ringgold, NE to Leo Douglas and Mable Quinn (Allen) Cash. He graduated from McPherson County High School in 1953 and worked on ranches until he entered the US Army in October of 1955 thru September 1957. He married Charlene Woods on May 31, 1959 in North Platte and they moved to Omaha where he worked at the US Postal Service for 20 years. He had the opportunity to return to North Platte and be the MSC Director of the US Postal Services, and retired in 1992. Larry was active in Buffalo Bill Kiwanis and Mid Plains Cage Club, he loved hunting, fishing, golf and genealogy. He wanted his kids and grandkids to enjoy the things he loved with him.

Larry is survived by his wife Charlene; daughter Sally (Matt) Ryan; sons Randy (Christie) and Ron (Kerri); sisters Audrey (Al) Coleman and Evelyn Brown; grandchildren Kimberly, Marcus, Cameron (Beth), Brittany, Jordan (Kim) Mason, Connor, Mason, Madison; great grandchildren Nate, Ryder, Clayton; and special friends Rhonda Doeschot-Cash and Kara Negley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Thorton Clyde and Dale Leo; sister Leona Barner; and brothers-in-law Al Brown & Glenn Barner.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Buffalo Bill Kiwanis, Mid Plains Cage Club, Hospice, Presbyterian Church or donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday October 29, 2015 at the 1st Presbyterian Church with Reverend Polly Deppen-Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from noon until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
